Construction Project Manager

Glendale Engineering (Milfield) Limited are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our rapidly growing business to be based at either our Jesmond or Wooler site. We are seeing a large increase in demand for us to provide the groundworks to go hand in hand with our steel construction. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the right attitude to help our business grow further. We are based in the North East with our fabrication site and main office in Wooler, Northumberland and a newly opened office in Jesmond, Newcastle. Our site work takes us around the UK so overnight stays are part of the job. We offer in house training with further technical training being provided by recognised professional bodies. A company pool car will be provided.

If you have 5 years experience of Construction Project Management we'd love to hear from you. Experience of Structural Steel Buildings, Site Surveying & Ground Works would be an advantage.

Purpose of Job:

· To manage ground works and steel construction contracts and projects effectively, ensuring that they are completed economically and safely

· To manage contracts and projects to clients’ specifications, agreed timescales, meet quality standards and are within budget

Responsibilities:

· Understanding contract and project requirements

· Verifying and confirming specifications; managing design information flow

· Developing, controlling and ensuring delivery against project/contract budget

· To consistently provide excellent customer service

· Line management of the ground works team

· Contract/project administration

· Establishing sites and managing logistics, materials and transport

· Producing strategies for bids and solutions for customers and projects

· Collaborating with the Drawing Office and Compliance Office as required to ensure projects are achieved and completed correctly and on time

· Preparing and submitting reports for Senior Managers, as required or requested

· Putting together site teams

· All aspects of line management for site teams

· Managing customer relations

· Building stakeholder relationships

· Managing quality and compliance

· Managing Health & Safety, statutory, regulatory and company requirements to ensure compliance

· Completing regulatory and compliance paperwork as required, accurately and to deadline

· Attending site/design and start meetings

· Assisting with site work if necessary to ensure completion to specification and deadline

· Arranging regular team meetings

· Attending meetings as required

· Attending all training as required

· Any other duties that are reasonably required by management

Special duties/requirements:

· Extensive travel and some overnight stays

· Full, UK driving licence

· Must be eligible to work in the UK

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship

Glendale Engineering (Milfield) Ltd are looking for a Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprentice. This is an excellent opportuntiy for the right candidate. The role will mainly be Estimating and some Quantity Surveying work.

In this role, you will require to be self-motivated, with the ability to support fellow team members, work within an experienced steelwork fabrication, civils and construction team and meet Client requirements and deliver construction projects within agreed costs and timescales. You will be responsible for providing financial input to a wide range of projects with key clients around the UK.

You will be based in Glendale Engineering’s offices in Jesmond or be based on-site, potentially at any location within the UK. Flexibility to travel will form a part of the role.

What is on offer

£15,000 p.a. plus £1,000 p.a. increments dependant on review of commercial and university work.

Who is the ideal candidate?

You must be able to manage your time effectively, be accurate and be comfortable working independently.
